Do I need to see a therapist or can I just come in for medication management only?
While we recommend that you see both your therapist and psychiatrist under one umbrella (at our clinic) for continuity and coordination of care, we do honor existing relationships you may have. We can offer psychiatric services without therapy. In such cases, we do ask that you sign a release of info so that we can maintain open communication with your other treating provider to best ensure that you are receiving the best of services and care.
What if I miss an appointment?
If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before it is scheduled, you will be subject to a cancellation fee of $75.00. To avoid this cancellation fee, please provide cancellation notice at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Do you have in person therapy?
We do have both in person and telehealth therapy.
I missed my appointment with the psychiatrist. What should I do?
Please be mindful that our psychiatry team has a very busy schedule. The appointment that you are given is set aside for you and we ask that you do your very best to adhere to your appointment. If you do miss you appointment, please call the office as soon as possible in order to discuss rescheduling options.
I need a refill today because I don’t have any medications left; what should I do?
We do not issue medication refills as all clients need to meet with the psychiatrist for appropriate follow up. We will on occasion offer bridge scripts – which are just enough pills to last until the rescheduled appointment. We do ask that clients attend their scheduled appointments so bridge scripts will not be needed. It is very labor intensive for our psychiatric and administrative team to have to issue bridge scripts and not in your best interest as you will not be getting the close monitoring and attention to your psychiatric needs in these instances.
How often do I need to see the psychiatrist?
This is dependent upon your individual needs and situation. Please schedule an appointment to meet with our psychiatrist to determine how often you need to come in for medication management.
I don’t like my therapist. Can I see someone else?
We make every effort to match you with a clinician with whom you will be able to develop a good rapport in order to develop and progress towards goals for growth. We take into consideration factors such as personality, clinical issue of concern and clinician specialization, and overall availability. Therapy is hard and we ask that you remain open and patient with the process. While at first it may not feel comfortable, we do ask that you trust the matching process. Talk openly and honestly with your therapist, and if you do continue to have a concern we will do our best to address any needed changes on a case by case basis.
What is the clinical education and background of your staff?
All our clinicians hold Master’s or Doctoral degrees. We also employ a physician who serves as our Director and Psychiatrist.
How will I know if the clinic is open in case of inclement weather?
Call the clinic’s main office number at 410-431-0402 for the updated voicemail message. This is how we communicate changes with our clients. If we are closed, all in person sessions will be cancelled for the day – however, if you are receiving telemental health services you may still receive services from your therapist or psychiatrist. Your therapist will be in touch with you in such cases to discuss options.
